Sometimes great concepts come from a flash of inspiration, and sometimes they're born of necessity - like the necessity to remember to send a birthday card to a friend, or a Mother's Day card to Mom. "What if we had a system that remembered to send all of our cards, to everyone we know, for every possible occasion - even if we forgot?" That was the question that spawned the development of ScheduledCards.
Our goal was to develop a completely new, advertising supported FREE site that was easy to use, and had a comprehensive scheduling system to quickly set up cards to send to everyone we know. New Years, Christmas, Birthdays, Anniversaries - whatever the occasion you might send a card for, we wanted to make sure that we could schedule it, and forget it! And for cards that you don't need to schedule, like a Thank You or Get well card, we set up the quickest single card sending system on the Internet.
Next we commissioned the creation of thousands of exclusive cards - covering virtually every occasion - and designed a system that would email the card images and personal messages directly to the recipient. No more text links back to a website to view the card - we wanted the recipient to be able to view it directly from their email.
As we developed the product, we told some our friends about what we were doing. One of them happened to mention that he thought this would be a great tool to use in his Dental practice to help him stay in touch with his patients between office visits. If he could import the contacts from his patient management system (no problem for ScheduledCards), and send them all cards on their birthdays and other holidays, he was willing to pay for a product that we were going to offer for free - with one caveat; NO advertising on the cards. After a few more discussions, ScheduledNotes was born - the "big brother" commercial version of the ScheduledCards site.
Not only did we make ScheduledNotes "advertising free", but we added a whole suite of business features, like advanced reporting functions, the ability to add as many contacts as you needed, and most importantly, the ability to create custom emails that you can use to send out coupons, announcements, postcards, special offers - as easily, and with the same automatic scheduling features that are the cornerstone of the ScheduledCards system.
